Dental Implants
Dental implants are the most natural replacements for missing teeth. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root (usually made of titanium) that is surgically placed in the position of a missing tooth. Once the implant has healed, a natural looking crown covers the top of the implant. The result is a natural looking artificial tooth that can provide years of service.
Dental implants are often the treatment of choice because they are held in place by the bone, in much the same way as natural teeth. Other methods of tooth replacement may involve using other teeth to anchor the artificial tooth.
Dental implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth, as well as an entire arch of missing teeth.
